    CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW:
    Minnesota Children’s Museum’s “sparking children’s learning through play” for more than 25 years is evident in everything we do, from exhibit development to educational programming to community and school partnerships. The Museum opens its doors to nearly 400,000 annual visitors who engage in the important work of play. We are proud to be recognized by the Charities Review Council for meeting accountability standards in our charitable work for children and their families.

    Minnesota Children’s Museum received the 2006 MetLife Foundation and Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Promising Practice Award for it Wakanheza program, a community-wide initiative focused on strengthening and enhancing museum staff’s interaction with children, youth and families in a peaceful, supportive way. The Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded Minnesota Children’s Museum a $150,000 Museums for America grant in 2005. IMLS will fund Minnesota Children’s Museum’s Community Faces and Places initiative, a project created to establish deep and enduring relationships with the culturally rich West Side communities. Saint Paul Illustrated magazine readers named Minnesota Children’s Museum the Best Kids’ Party Place of Saint Paul 2006.
